I was tagged by the lovely, and brilliant, J. R. Barker

Jo Barker has been writing short stories for many years as a hobby and has now finally published with The Adventures of the Frog Prince. Her stories take you on weird and wonderful journeys using a combination of fantasy and strange facts that makes the narrative more engaging. At the moment she is writing children’s tales but there are plans for other books.

And now it’s my turn!

1. What am I working on now?

Several things are in the works at the moment.
I became serious about publishing a Fantasy series I started in high school, recently renamed “The Stones of Eldegras”, taking the time to revamp and rewrite this series is taking a great deal longer than I thought it would!
I have also been added to a collaborative writers group and am working on setting up my characters, land and stories.  This has been a great deal of fun!

2. How does my work differ from others of it’s genre?

Well, I don’t really know how to answer that question.  The Stones of Eldegras is written from a narrative (everyone else keeps calling it “passive”) point of view, I have six characters the story revolves around.  I think this narrative POV is what makes my story different.
There are a lot more reasons, but I would be posting spoilers if I told you too much 😉
The collaborative works, however, is different because you don’t find a lot of dark rangers ruled by an evil Master.
My Christian works are different because I tell it like it is.  I believe in a foreign idea of the Supreme God and how much control He justly has over the nations.
In the realm of Christianity, I want to make the difficult simple for people to understand and bring the Gospel to their level.

3. Why do I write what I do?

Fantasy: Because it’s the beat of my heart.  In a world so very bland, the beauty is in Nature and using your imagination to expand the mundane!  I live for fantasy, I breathe fantasy– magical worlds so very far away, that only my imagination can touch…..
Christian Non-Fiction: I feel like our God is given very little credit for being the Supreme Ruler of the Universe.  I want to write what nobody else touches on.  I don’t care if it isn’t “politically correct”, our God is above Politics.

4. How does my writing process work?

I don’t really know how to answer that question.  I sit down, and I write.  End of process.
